annotated bibliography

An annotated bibliography is pretty much a summary or evaluation of every source that you have found .It gives you more of an insight on the sources. It also helps you make a better argument its very good source when it comes to a per-searching method. As the website says they are different things that you can do when doing an annotated bibliography like asses and reflect. I feel like this is very important to the class because it allows me to really getting an understanding of exactly what we I am re searching. Doing the annotated bibliography helps develop a good argument. It also brings together everything that I have learned in the class together.  This can also help you get a deeper understanding of what you are actually talking about. I feel like this actually helps me better organize everything that has been found. It also lets me see if all of the resources match one another and see if they build off of each other. After doing this it makes it better to see if your argument is actually being executed by the sources that you have. Doing this would better my argument and make it more professional than it is.

10/22 Fliter Bubble

A filter bubble is when the internet automatically picks out certain websites that it feels is best for you based on the other site you may regularly look up. The potential drawback for this is that when trying to boarding you search it is nearly impossible because you are in such a constricted area of exactly what you need to look up. The types of website that may be pulled up or the different information that maybe pulled up may not be suitable for exactly what you are looking up at the time. The potential problems that this can cause on academic research is that you might not be able to find sites that you professor may assign to you.  The filter bubbles may only bring up stuff that compares to your social life not your academic life. The only way that you may be able to escape these filter bubbles if you go to your school library which might not be accessible to you at all times. This can hold you back for getting actually creditable sources that you might need for something that has to do with your academics. I really haven’t noticed or really was aware about filter bubbles so I wouldn’t know exactly how it has effect my personal life. I assume that it has held me back from possible information that would be worthwhile to me.

rhetorical devices

i dont really watch alot of tv but i do go on youtube at least once a day and i was watching a natural hair video and it was really a debate on natural vs hair that has chemicals in it. in this video the first rhetorical device that stood out the most to me was the use of appeal to nature the female in the video was really for all natural products she argued that natural products where better for your hair simply because it was all natural and the other one that was used was black or white pretty much talking down on each others points and saying that the was no middle ground it was either you where natural or not  and one of the last ones that i could see with out truley look for it was appeals to emotion of course the females going on in this debate hair was of the content they argued and was from personal stories andwas to the point making not really valid argueements that could be back up with facts but only what they have gone through. i feel like you would find the most rhetorical devices in dabates cause people would say alot for you to be on their side

plagiarism

I learned about plagiarism at a young age i think it was brought to my attention around middle school. my basic knowledge is when you takes someone else work and call it your own. many people do not know what is consider plagiarism. to list a couple there is the copying word for word and calling it your own work. or the other way of simply switching out a couple of words and calling it your own work. many do not know that you can use the copy paste method its just the fact that you have to cite and give credit where credit is due.  many do not realize it but plagiarism is simply stealing even though many do not think they are doing something wrong they are i feel that one of the ways we can stop plagiarism is that computers are built to where if someone is copying a document it required that the citation goes along with it before leaving the page. or we need to learn more about all the steps on how to cite a page and what  are all the different types of plagiarism at a younger age i think those two methods would slow down or even stop plagiarism all together    word count:206

10/8

My major is psychology I’m really not good with research at all. Think that the stuff that I learn in this class will help me learn more about my major. When I did this challenge of trying to find out what is better I did find a way that I can learn more.  Going through both the Galileo and the subject specific they both brought up good things. I feel like it I wanted to get more information on a subject that subject specific would put me right to what I needed. If i wanted to go in depth on exactly what psychology really is   this is the place that I need to go. It brought up articles and different books it brought up certain types of things that you can look at different views of psychology. Discovery brought up stuff but it was way too much for me and it was too much to have to go through to find out about this subject. Both of them are good to look for information but I feel like if you need something to support an argument than subject specific is the way t go but if you need something to look up general information and you have a lot more time on your hands than discovery is the way to go.
